Lateral Skull Base Surgery (Tumors, Cysts, Growths, etc.)
Tumors located at the lateral skull base can be threatening to the brain stem and important surrounding nerves, including the hearing, balance and facial nerves. This delicate and complex part of the neurological system requires extreme care in surgical treatment. Skull base surgeons at Advanced ENT Services may use an endoscopic or microsurgical approach for addressing conditions of the lateral skull base, including acoustic neuromas, meningiomas, cholesteatomas, schwannomas, glomus tumors and more.
Anterior Skull Base Surgery (Tumors, Cysts, Growths: Pituitary Tumors, Esthesioneuroblastomas, Tumors of the Nasal Cavity and Sinuses, etc.)
Board-certified and fellowship-trained ENT specialists at Advanced ENT Services perform anterior skull base surgeries for the treatment of tumors, cysts and growths, including pituitary tumors, tumors of the nasal cavity and sinuses, and esthesioneuroblastomas (ENBs), which are also known as olfactory neuroblastomas. These rare malignant tumors form on the upper nasal cavity anterior skull base, primarily affecting individuals in their 50s and 60s. Surgical repair may involve a number of specialists with experience in the anatomy and special needs of the tissues and nerves in the mouth, tongue and face.
